The project is of the nature of a Concerted Action and is to coordinate and support the research and technology development on Late Blight already conducted and financed at a national level.


It will expand the associated research efforts of the partners so as to reach a critical mass and will enable the pooling of data to facilitate common harmonised standards, procedures and methodologies. The 24 partners are exchanging existing data on host resistance to Late Blight and variation in pathogen populations of Phytophthora infestans. For this, standardized methods has been developed, and adopted by the project. Special emphasis has been put on the dissemination of methods, information and results and informing end users.
