Objectives:
- seed science of crop plants, wild species and weeds, identification of seeds, morphological and anatomical characteristics,
- investigation of sowing value parameters of seeds from conventional and organic farming, effect of storage on sowing value
- membership of the International Seed Testing Association – ISTA, translation ISTA Rules into Polish and every year edition of amendments, cooperation with ISTA Technical Committees, proficiency tests,
- training’s activity – courses for personnel of seed testing laboratories and seed service, - pictures from workshops
- standardization’s activity within the Polish Committee for Standardization,
- laboratory, sampling and field inspection activities are accredited to State Plant Health and Seed Inspection Service,
- analysis of seed sowing value and chemical composition - service for breeders and seed industry.

Objectives:
- studies on seed-borne microorganisms in cereals, grasses and grain legumes,
- pathogenicity analysis in populations of pathogens (e.g. Mycosphaerella pinodes), development of screening methodology and search for resistance sources in pea,
- pathogenic variability of population of Colletotrichum lindemuthianum fungus, screening methodology, pathogen resistance among dry and snap bean genotypes
- seeds protein electrophoregram as a identity feature both species and cultivars and as a tool for estimation of genetic purity of grass samples
- interaction between wheat and rye genomes in octoploid triticale on the basis of expression of genes encoding embryo and endosperm proteins,

- estimation of plant breeding and seed production effectiveness,
- survey of farmers concerning introduction of newly developed cultivars into commercial production,
- estimation of influence of different factors on yield and its quality with special regard to seed and varietal factors,
- statistical analysis in plant breeding, seed science and seed production.
