Objectives:

  • inheritance of wheat storage proteins,
  • relationship between wheat storage protein subunits and resistance to leaf and stripe rust and powdery mildew,
  • differentiation of gliadin immunoreactive properties in winter wheat breeding materials,
  • transformation of nutrient properties from spelt (T. spelta) to common wheat (T.aestivum ) using the gliadin proteins as biochemical markers,
  • differentiation of HMW glutenin subunits coded by the chromosome 1A under the influence of selection for the most important traits.

Objectives:

  • improvement of production and testing methods of genetic sources for cereal breeding,
  • introgressions of genes encoding spike and kernel characters from related species Poaceae into wheat (T. aestivum L.) with interspecific and intergeneric generative hybridization,
  • improvements of the technological grain quality of wheat (T. aestivum L.) with introgressions of alleles Glu-1 loci of tetraploid T. durum Desf.,
  • identification of biochemical markers of preharvest seed sprouting resistance in wheat T. aestivum L.,
  • estimation of combining ability and gene action determined some yield components, inheritance of resistance to leaf rust in triticale (x Triticosecale Witt.),
  • statistical analysis of laboratory and field results for cereal breeding.
